Sakshi Mala has a total of 20 beads. We should tie it on the Bead bag in such a way that it divides into sets 16 and 4.
The portion containing the 16 beads should be used for counting the number of Japa rounds. Extra beads are provided for devotees chanting more than 16 rounds.

Sakhi Mala is an attachment of a string of beads to the chanting bag (Japa potli). It is used to keep a track of chanting rounds of Hare Krishna Maha Mantra. If some one has completed 1 round on Japa Mala (Chanting beads) then one bead is taken down on Sakshi Mala and it helps to remember, how many rounds of Japa (Chanting) have been completed.
Recommended rounds daily – Chant 16 rounds and keep count using this Sakshi Mala.
